Experienced Part-Time (Term-time only):

Food/Nutrition/Hospitality/Catering Teacher

(E1 to GCSE)

Salary: £20.00 to £25.00 per hour

Birmingham Independent College (BIC) is looking to appoint a Food and Nutrition Teacher (Entry Level to Level 3/GCSE). You should preferably be a qualified teacher, have a minimum of two years teaching experience and have a valid enhanced DBS.  You will be joining an independent provision specialising in teaching students with low behavioural ASC/ASD and ADHD.  BIC was awarded Ofsted ‘Good’ in June 2017.  We have a capacity of 35 SEN students aged 14-25, BIC’s focus is to ensure our students ‘reach educational excellence’ whilst meeting their fullest potential.  Our staff, strive to be a beacon of support, whilst developing innovative learning schemes to increase the academic and vocational potential of every single student.

As a BIC team member you will have a proven track record, which demonstrates and exemplifies an honest passion for teaching using individually designed lesson plans, which differentiates in delivery to our high standards. In this small team, a degree of flexibility and ‘can do’ attitude is expected from each member in order to gain the expected results.

BIC offers a vibrant learning experience, which is co-educational with a strong focus on support for low level ASC/ASD and ADHD students and ESOL students.

Our courses include English and maths (E1-GCSE/A Levels), ICT (E1-L2), ESOL (E1 to E3), Science (E1 – GCSE/A Levels), Vocational courses in Health & Social Care, Hospitality & Catering and Business/Finance.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
